Reinforcing Wire
We have had requests to teach this technique.
Thirty-minute demonstration. Instructor will demonstrate how to attach a reinforcing wire to the perimeter edge of a sun catcher. If students bring a completed sun catcher, tools, and supplies, the instructor will assist students in attaching a 20-gauge reinforcing wire. The instructor will furnish the wire. Beginner Stained Glass Class
This is a 4 week course 2.5 hours per week for 4 weeks. Learn the basics of cutting glass and creating a stained glass panel using the copper foil (Tiffany) method. At least one project will be finished in class. This is also a good class for those of you returning to stained glass that need a refresher class.

Introduction to Stained Glass
This class is for those of you who want to check out what is involved in the craft of Stained Glass before you sign up for the beginner class.
We will demonstrate the the basics of cutting glass, foiling, soldering and finishing a stained glass suncatcher using the copper foil (Tiffany) method. You will get hands on experience in each of the techniques demonstrated. You will take a suncatcher home.
Sign up for the beginner class March 31 and we will take $20 off the instructor fee.

Copper Foil Panel Lamp Class
Students will build a panel lamp in class and at home.
Topics taught are vellum patterns, jigs, foiling, soldering, vase caps, spiders, lamp components, and more. A special subject is a MS Excel® algorithm that can custom design lamp panel dimensions. The instructor will demonstrate Tiffany-style lamp making.
Prior to the first class, the student should obtain a pattern, glass, supplies, and a lamp base, if applicable. Try to limit the lamp pattern to a maximum of 30 pieces.
Prerequisite: Beginner level experience in the copper foil method.
The class schedule is five weeks, but students will meet only four Saturdays for two hours each. One Saturday will be a bye-week to allow students to grind and foil glass.
The instructor will provide students with a CD with over forty pages of text and photos (PDF) of panel lamp making instructions and the basic design algorithm file (MS Excel®).

Intermediate Class
This is a 4 week course 2.5 hours per week. Learn what you would like to know. Advance your copper foil techniques with more intricate panel work. You could also learn how to lead a panel or advance your lead techniques. Improve your soldering. Everyone in class may be learning something different!
Prerequisites: Previous stained glass experience is required.
Cost is $175.00

Lead Class
This 4 week course (2.5hours per week) will teach you the construction of stained glass panels using lead came instead of copper foil. Lead is taught in the Intermediate class.
Introduction to Fusing
In this class students will learn the basics of fusing including:
Glass Compatibility
Behavior of Glass at Varying Temperatures
Basic Kiln Use Perpetration of Molds and Kiln Shelves
Students will complete two projects over the two class sessions. A small fused piece such as a jewelry pendent, refrigerator magnet or Christmas tree ornament and a larger piece using both fusing and slumping or draping techniques taught during the class.
Basic project materials will be provided, additional items may be purchased. Students should have basic glass cutting skills and wear comfortable closed toed shoes.
Prerequisites: None
Cost: $200.00 plus select materials needed for projects.

These workshops are designed for those who would like to expand on the basic skills taught in Introduction to Fusing. Each class will focus on a specific technique such as draping, slumping, fusing or glass weaving. Each student will design, cut, and assemble the piece during the first day of the workshop then participate in scheduling the firing for the piece. On the second day of class, those items requiring a second firing will be prepared and fired.
